Series 1

The story begins. When evolutionary zoologist, Nick Cutter, sets out with his graduate student Connor Temple and lab technician Stephen Hart to investigate strange animal sightings in the Forest of Dean, he finds himself confronted with the subject of his studies in a way he could never have imagined.

And so begins a journey of discovery in which the team begin to realise that vicious creatures are popping up in the present day through anomalies - rips in time that lead back to the prehistoric era.

There's more than professional intrigue behind Cutter's investigations though; eight years ago his wife disappeared from the heart of the forest.

Along the way, the crew find themselves face to face with 15-foot millipedes, vicious sea creatures called mosasaurs, parasite-carrying dodos and giant pteranodons, while at the same fighting the off the bureaucrats who would like to sweep their findings under the carpet.

There's no chance of that though, especially with Cutter so determined to find out where his wife fits into all this. Unfortunately for him, when the two are finally reunited, things don't turn out quite the way he'd hoped...

Series 2

Professor Nick Cutter is not happy. His estranged wife Helen has deceived him; tricking him into going through the anomalies one last time.

But something has gone terribly wrong and upon his return to the present, the world as he knows it has changed. Cutter must now attempt to convince his team that their actions have inadvertently altered the course of nature.

First he has to deal with a family of raptors going wild in the aisles of a shopping mall, not to mention a sabre-tooth at an amusement park and a woolly mammoth holding up the traffic on the M25. The creatures just keep on coming and the team keep on doing their best to keep them from the public.

It seems not even Connor’s new anomaly detector can stop the beastly invasion. Could it be that someone from within their organisation is working against them? As the series reaches its climax, it becomes apparent that Lester’s new right-hand man Leek has a hidden agenda.

He believes that humanity is doomed and that the only people who will survive and prosper are those who have the backing of the predators. Time is running out for Cutter and his team to stop Leek from realising his hideous vision...
